I am impressed with the quality of the piece, very sturdy island. The rubber feet keep the piece from sliding all around the kitchen, which is nice. The paint finish is matte, and the wood finish is nicely done. The work surface is not solid butcher block, it’s about an inch thick. I think that’s what kept the price from being outrageous. The top of the butcher block is a bunch of small strips, kind of looks like a mosaic.
